Excellence in Leadership Hallmark
I would like to begin with thanking you for the time to read through my submission for a Deakin Hallmark for Excellence in Leadership. Winning this award would support all the effort and dedication to being a Leader not only in the Deakin community but also in the Geelong region. It would recognise the progressive change and impact that I have made and would acknowledge my achievements throughout my time at Deakin. Even if I don’t get awarded this Hallmark, I know that I will continue to develop and grow my skills and pursue to be the best version of myself. I have always been someone who seeks to support a range of diverse groups and people and see it as a great opportunity for personal growth and a way to give back.
Being fortunate enough to study at Deakin University has given me the chance to be a role model in the community and a spokesperson for positive change. My learning journey begun in 2017 as I entered beginning a Bachelor of Psychological Science. I completed this degree in 2020 and commenced in a Master of Teaching in Primary in February of 2021. The bachelor provided me with the insight of the need to support and encourage a welcoming supportive community. I hope that my teaching degree will allow me to support student learning and develop a school community that has all participants feeling respected, valued and treated with equality. My Qualification allows me to be the impact that students might need to help make a difference in their life. I hope to not only influence educational change but effect students to be better community members. Changing the life of young students is my dream and goal with the use of my leadership and innovated skills to seek practices that support children holistically. I have learnt that learning is life long and I feel honoured to be given the chance to guide students and get them ready to enter the world. I hope that throughout my life my education will allow me to bring change in every aspect of my life to make a lasting impact on everyone I meet.
